Whew

The serial killer has been shot and killed in NC!!! I know Gaffney is like 1 1/2 hours from here...we went through Gaffney last Saturday morning and back again early on Tuesday morning on our way to Baltimore to see Dalton's hip doctor...but I've just been all creeped out this week. This world is so wicked and mean and then there are people like the serial killer that don't hold any value on human life. It's so sad. I'm just thankful that this will at least bring a little closure to the families of the victims and to the community that has lived in fear for these past 9 days! I got a txt msg from the BFF saying that the serial killer was dead. I had cold chills and quite a few tears. I was just so glad that it's over and he can't hurt anybody else!

Thank you Lord Jesus for allowing his reign of terror to stop!

Not Me! Monday

The Upstate of SC has a serial on the loose...most likely he's in the Gaffney area but all week I've had a case of the "woolies" wondering if he's traveling our way. Well last night the rumors started on Facebook that a suspicious person had been seen near the State Park, near the Fish Hatchery, near Earls Ford (which is where we take the boys to the river..), etc etc etc. I most certainly did not get sick to my stomach with fear. This morning when nothing was found on google regarding the serial killer in our area I relaxed a little...even cut the grass and then proceeded to vacuum out the swimming pool. I got a phone call saying that apparently this was more than a rumor. I definetly did not run inside and lock all the doors and set the alarm..no, not me!! I am not sitting here in my swimsuit too scared to go outside to the pool...and my sweet little Dalton definetly did not just ask Hunter to go wif him to the "bafroom" (bathroom) because "he's afraid the killer might be in there". I also did not invite company over to hang out with us so I would be less afraid...that would make me crazy..and I'm definetly NOT crazy! lol

Whew what a week!

We left a week ago tonight for Baltimore.....this week has flown by.

So let's recap...last Thursday afternoon I took Hunter to the doctor for the cough that he's had for about 3 weeks. Not an infection, adjustment of asthma/allergy meds...I start coughing myself. Lovely.

Friday we took the boys to the river and then left for Baltimore in the middle of the night.

Saturday...rollin, rollin, rollin...12 hours to Baltimore. The boys played in the playroom at the Hackerman House (sort of like a Ronald McDonald house) and then we called in supper from Applebees. We got to bed and Hunter coughs and coughs and coughs and coughs some more..until about 4am.

Sunday we leave Baltimore heading for Washington DC. Had a lovely day. The boys enjoyed seeing all the things that they've seen on the news and in movies (ie: Forest Gump). We concentrated in the area of the Washington Monument....we saw it, the war memorials, Lincoln Memorial, reflecting pool, the White House, plus plenty of statues, etc. We drove over to Arlington National Cemetary and saw the things we wanted to see there. We stopped and ate supper at a nice Golden Coral just outside of Baltimore. Sunday night we were all exhausted and everybody slept very well! lol

Monday we got up, picked up breakfast, took the boys to the playroom, packed the car and walked across the street to the hospital for our noon appointment with Dalton's hip doctor. We were called back to a room at 2pm. LOL! But I have said that I won't complain about the wait to see Dr. Standard bc the wait is worth the time that he spends with you in the room. We were out of the appt by 3:30 and heading back for God's Country. (LOL!) You can read Dalton's update by checking out his blog. Click on his picture on the right of the blog.

Tuesday...we arrive home around 3:30am and I'm WIDE AWAKE until almost 5:30am...go to sleep only to wake up at 7am. I get up and unpack, clean in the house, etc. Run some errands, Hunter's still coughing, I'm still coughing...decide that I'm going to the doctor. Yes, the cough is in my chest but no antibiotics needed..think it's bronchitis. Run more errands, confer with Hunter's ped and they want to check him to make sure it's not in his chest...see his ped at 2pm...nope, cough is not in chest, wrote us a new cold/cough combo med to try. The corn is ready...hooray...me, Joey, and his parents cut, shuck, and do whatever else you do to put up about 60 ears of corn.

Wed...I didn't even get out of pajamas all day. I wasn't sick enough to lay around but felt bad enough that I didn't want to do anything...so I stood at the bar in the kitchen and made hairbows the majority of the day. Bragged on the boys because they were so good and played so nice.

Thursday..took Dalton to therapy and then went to my mom's to hang out with her and my sister and Sara Jane. Came home at 4pm because MORE corn was ready...Joey's parents come came over again to help out and this time we made creamed corn. The boys wanted to go home w/Ree & Papa to watch a movie. Marie calls at 9:45 to say that Hunter is complaining of an ear ache. I go and pick them up and by the time we get in the door he is bawling and shaking from the pain. I gave him Lorit@b at 10:15..we tried ear drops, a warm rag, a heating pad...all to no avail. At 1:15am he had still not been to sleep and I gave him some mot-rin (trying not to let spam bots on the blog)...finally at 2am he fell asleep. During this 3 hour ordeal of ear pain Dalton got up twice crying with his leg.

Which leads me to today...call the ped re: Hunter's ear..they are closed for the 4th holiday...take him to urgent care...right ear infected, 5 days of Zithrom@x. Called Joey to meet us for lunch, came home and we laid down for a little while and watched a movie..well they watched a movie and I dozed in the recliner. Joey got off of work early today and I moved furniture in the bedroom and in the den. It looks great, by the way. LOL Then, joy of joys, Joey alerts me that we have more corn ready.....so instead of getting in the pool like I had planned I cut corn off the cob and cooked it to make more cream corn. But alas, it's 9:50 Joey & the boys are just now eating supper (he cooked hamburger helper with deer meat) and I elected not to eat. LOL.....Anyway, the hizzle is clean and I'm looking forward to the weekend. Tomorrow my parents and sister and Sara Jane are coming over for lunch and to swim and then later in the afternoon me, Joey, & the boys are going to his parents to swim and then go see some fireworks somewhere over Lake Keowee. Sunday our church is having our annual Family Day @ the Lake and then that evening the boys and I are meeting up with some of my girlfriends from high school for a birthday party. We only get together (well other than me and Alli) about once or twice a year so it'll be nice to catch up.

Ok, well the laundry police just alerted me that the laundry is done in the dryer so we are off to fold the laundry....ahhh, the simple joys in life. ROFL!!!!

Later peeps!

Feeling better

I did end up going to the party on Friday night and it helped get me out of my funk. Saturday Vanessa and I made some hairbows while the kids played. Sunday we had a nice Father's Day visiting with our families. Yesterday Dalton had PT and then he went to his Mimi's house to play and Hunter came home with me. Vanessa came over and brought Carter and the boys played while we worked on hairbows, headbands, and paci clips for SIX HOURS!!! LOL! We got so much accomplished though! We made 18 headbands, 22 bows, and 6 paci clips! We have some great ideas in mind so we decided to make us a blog, which I started last night. Check it out here. We both homeschool and stay home so we are hoping this will be a way for us to earn some extra money and we both really enjoy making the bows and stuff. It's so much fun to be creative and pick out colors and all. LOL!! We will also ship bows anywhere in the US (and probably elsewhere too) so keep us in mind!! Our bows are very nice and very cost friendly!!

Anyway, today I'm working on bows a little and then I think the boys and I will hit the pool!

Have a good one party people!
